Batnic was founded in 1995. Since the first day I threw a rock in the sky at dusk as a child and watched a bat hone in on it, I had a curiousity about these
creatures. To my surprise, so little information was known about them and I shortly realized how ignorant I was about them. After educating myself using libraries and the internet, I became a full
fledged bat enthusiast and gained a better understanding of these beneficial mammals. What started as a hobby has turned into a passion. I now dedicate much of my free time educating the public and building
alternative roosts (bat houses) for our only flying mammal. Thank's to a few wonderful people in Texas (BCI), grassroots field study, and other bat enthusiasts, I can now pleasingly share some of
my knowledge with others to help benefit both us and our only flying mammal. |
